Let's Go Giants!!!

We finally made it to a Giants Spring Training game on Sunday.  We had lawn seats and I completely forgot to bring a blanket so we just stood around.  We got the kids some Giants swag and cruised around Scottsdale Stadium for awhile.  Sarina was so excited to get a hat and her foam finger!  Sebastian, of course had no idea what was going on but at least we can say he went to his 1st Giants game.  I personally did not see one pitch or one hit - but it was fun nevertheless.

Soccer

Sarina had her 1st soccer game on Saturday!  It is so cute to watch a group of 4 and 5 year olds run around playing soccer.  Her team, the Hurricanes made one goal - except it was in the wrong goal!

Soccer Star

This past week Sarina started soccer practice. When I signed her up (months ago), I thought it was just going to be a bunch of kids kicking the soccer ball around but I was wrong. They have over 10 teams with practice and games scheduled all the way into May. So a 1 day a week commitment turned into a 3 day a week thing - oh well...

Day of Firsts

Today, Sebastian had his first haircut (yes, he is not even a year yet) and had his first swim lesson. So much fun!

All Tuckered Out

Saturday are marathon days at the Soto House. This past Satuday was not an exception. We went to an author-led story time at the library, breakfast, a little city festival, swim lessons, and lunch with Ajji and Tata - and that was all before 2PM. By that point, both kids were absolutely exhausted and passed out in their carseats.

New Toy

So we haven't purchased many "new" toys for Sebastian since most of Sarina's baby toys were appropriate for either a boy or a girl. One thing we didn't have for Sarina was a push-along walker toy. Sebastian has been practicing pulling up a stand and cruising around furniture for a while now so I thought a new purchase was called for. I must say though, he is not overly thrilled with the toy and much prefers Sarina's shopping cart (much to her displeasure) and random chairs to help him walk. The walker folds down to a ride-on toy and he HATES it that way. I am hoping that when he learns to walk as fast as he pushes he might enjoy it more.

The Love of a Brother and Sister

Sarina loves her baby brother.  At her age it is really hard to give up her toys, space, time, and cuddle time from Amma and Dada to her little brother but she does it.  You can almost see in her face the restraint it takes to not cry when I have to put her down to pick Sebastian up.  It definitely makes me sad to see that look in her face but at the same time so proud of her for being a awesome big sister and understanding that Sebastian is still a baby.

It is absolutely amazing to watch the two of them play together.  At dinner yesterday, Sarina was standing behind Sebastian's highchair and playing peek-a-boo - looking from one side to the other side.  Sebastian was looking one way, then the other way - laughing hysterically.  They did it again at night before bedtime using my bent knee - looking above and below my knee.  It was beautiful!

Dinosaurs!

So most of you know that Sarina is pretty much obsessed with dinosaurs. I had an opportunity to take the day off today and took the kids to the Mesa Natural History Museum to see some dinosaurs.

Next time I get an opportunity to take a day, we want to go to the Children Museum which is also in Mesa!

T-Rex teeth!

BIG turtle-thing

Just thought this was a cool pic - too bad Sarina was too busy and looked away at the last sec.

Sarina on the television exhibit - no idea what that has to do which Natural History - but it was a hit with the kids.

Spring Training Weekend

Every year, Darren's buddies come out to AZ to enjoy a weekend of Giants Spring Training. In the last couple of years, it has slowly changed to include a family day. We usually go to Surprise Stadium because they have a nice grassy area and a Merry-Go-Round for the kids but this year unfortunately it rained. We moved the festivities to the Kierland Villas where the Crespo's were staying. I must say, 8 children all under the age of 5 makes for a very loud, boisterous, and of course enjoyable time.

Wooohooo - trains...

Bella and Sarina attack Darren - fun times!

Meet Charlotte and Emma both are almost the same age as Sebastian!

The Prince and the Princess!

Sarina has so many dress up clothes and of course Sebastian eventually gets dressed up in the crowns and such. At least in this pictures, Sebastian is not wearing anything pink! And of course, Seb needs to have Sophie (the giraffe) for his teething pain.

Grandma!

I managed to snap a picture of Grandma Cathy and the kiddos.
